Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 20th, 2026

OutfitAI (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the OutfitAI mobile application and website (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the OutfitAI app and related services. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is intended to comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations, including the UK GDPR, EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and applicable US privacy laws, as well as the requirements of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account in the app, we collect your email address and password. This information is used to create and manage your account.

1.2 User Content (Closet Photos)

OutfitAI allows users to upload photos of clothing items to build a digital wardrobe. These photos may include images of clothing items and wardrobe selections made by users. Photos uploaded by users are stored on Supabase servers and are used solely to provide the functionality of the Service. Photos and wardrobe data are deleted if a user deletes their account or manually removes items from their wardrobe.

1.3 Style Preferences

The app may collect style preferences selected by users in order to generate outfit recommendations. These preferences may include preferred styles, clothing combinations, and outfit generation preferences. This information is used only to generate outfit suggestions and improve the functionality of the app.

1.4 Website Analytics (Google Analytics)

When you visit our website, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to collect information about how users interact with the site. This may include information such as pages visited, time spent on pages, interactions, device type, browser type, approximate geographic location, and referring URLs.

Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and process this information. This data helps us understand website performance, improve user experience, and analyze traffic sources. Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device.

You can learn more about how Google processes data here: https://policies.google.com/privacy

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using browser settings or tools such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

OutfitAI does not collect or store precise device location data, contact lists, messages, biometric identifiers, or financial information. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data unless it is voluntarily provided by the user.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to create and manage user accounts, store wardrobe items uploaded by users, generate AI-powered outfit recommendations, maintain and improve app functionality, analyze usage trends, monitor performance, and improve both the mobile app and website experience.

4. Artificial Intelligence Processing

OutfitAI uses cloud-based artificial intelligence services provided by OpenAI to generate outfit recommendations. When outfit generation occurs, selected wardrobe items and preferences may be sent to the OpenAI API for processing so the AI system can generate outfit recommendations based on the information provided. OpenAI processes this information solely to generate responses and does not use it to identify users.

5. Third-Party Services

OutfitAI uses trusted third-party services to operate the Service. Supabase is used for secure data storage, user authentication, and database services. PostHog is used for product analytics within the app to understand feature usage, user interactions, and improve performance and user experience. Google Analytics is used on the website to analyze traffic and user behavior.

These third-party providers may process limited personal data on our behalf as data processors and are contractually obligated to handle data securely and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where applicable under the GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases for processing personal data: performance of a contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (to improve and maintain the Service), and user consent (for analytics cookies and certain tracking technologies). You have the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

7. Data Storage and Retention

User data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase and other trusted infrastructure providers. We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Users may delete their account at any time within the app. When an account is deleted, the associated user account information, uploaded wardrobe photos, and related data are removed from our systems where reasonably possible.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries outside your country of residence. Where required, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information, including secure cloud infrastructure, authentication protections, and secure data handling practices. However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children’s Privacy

OutfitAI does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If required by applicable law in your jurisdiction (such as under GDPR), higher age thresholds may apply. If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete such information.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information. These may include the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, restrict or object to certain processing, and request data portability.

Users may delete their account directly within the app to remove stored data. You may also contact us to exercise your rights. If you are located in the UK or EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

12. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including those provided by Google Analytics, to enhance user experience and analyze website traffic. Where required by law, we will request your consent before using non-essential cookies. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes occur, the updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
